Day Thirty. Local Day.

We rose late after asleep in. Weekends are good for these. Went walking on the other side of the market to see what was out there. Found a modern two-storey building that was a cafe. We were hungry so ate pad Thai with shrimps, bean curd and vegetables that was lovely.

Walked back past Farm to Table restaurant and on through the market. Bought some lychees as I love them and had yet not indulged. Came home and ate some with a mango smoothie by the pool while we did some work on the computer for Heidi's job. We had done some while in bed in the morning. Spent a lovely afternoon by the pool and then watched a "Finding Your Roots" on YouTube.

Our last supper at the hotel was spent by the pool in the dark.

We ate a light meal of chips and tomato bruschetta. I gave away my pink earrings to one of the staff who loved them. She was so thrilled. She showed me her new flower arrangement ( yellow and pink ) in the urn and I took some photos.

Then it was TV in bed. "Lost in Space." and then to sleep. Moving day tomorrow.

Day Twenty nine. Central market Day.

Up late after a lie-in and more Grace and Frankie episodes. Sat by the pool till leaving for central market. We took a tuk-tuk to the market and what a beautiful yellow dome beheld us.

There were so many stalls and products to look at but of course, we only have one suitcase to take everything back home.

We wandered around looking at everything and then had lunch at the food court on the outside of the market. I had noodles fried with beancurd and vegetables.

After lunch, we wandered around some more and Heidi bought a small Cambodian mask made out of paper mache and a red speaker for her phone.

The only purchase I made was a Chanel hair grip ( fake of course ) for three dollars to keep my hair off my neck in the heat. When we were done with the market we sat in a lovely air-conditioned cafe over the road from the market. We had a passionfruit smoothie.....Delicious.

Then another tuk-tuk ride back to the passport office where we had left our passports to renew our visas. Then home to eat snacks and relax.

The first night that we ate in our room in front of Fake or Fortune on TV. We had a jackfruit sandwich and some chips. Watermelon and yoghurt to follow. Fell asleep at 9 pm in front of the television. It had been a long day.

Day Twenty seven and eight. Moving rooms.

After walking Heidi to work I went to the supermarket to stock up on supplies. Came home and did the washing and some work on the computer. Tomorrow we are moving rooms as they had already booked our room. Will pack up this afternoon. Next Monday we leave for Queen Mansion and our new apartment. Ate noodle soup for tea and watched TV. More Grace and Frankie. We are addicted to this show. It is so funny. Also watched the movie " I Tonya" about the champion ice skater. Depressing movie but good. Went to bed having a poor night's sleep.

Next Day.

Moved rooms at 0830 to 102, the room next door. Much the same but we now have a separate shower and the basin is on a bench in the room.

We have a nice look out onto the pool from another angle. Tired, I sat and had a well-deserved coffee, texting Heidi to tell her all was completed. I talked to some English people while I sat outside. Had 2-minute noodles and yoghurt for lunch.  In the afternoon I watched Bear Grylls and River Monsters, both of which I like. Enjoyed the new room pottering and unpacking more things. Met Heidi after work around the corner at the lights and did some video footage of the traffic.

We went back to the hotel and then headed out to look for somewhere to eat for dinner. This turned out to be a great photo opportunity as the light was fading. We took loads of photos and it was great fun.

On the way back we called into our dessert bar opposite the supermarket for dinner as we were hungry.

Had a different seafood pasta and chicken with pickles. Wandered home to watch TV. It had been a big day.

This photo is looking out onto the street through our hotel gates.
