Day Twenty - Three. Local Temple day.

Saturday morning. Got up later at ten am and walked round to local temple. This time we were sensible and used the lights at the busy intersection so that we could actually get to the other side. Lovely temple but we were not able to get inside. Great photo opportunity though.

Visited the souvenir store but did not buy anything although the products were gorgeous.

We then headed back by Tuk-Tuk via the Russian Market. Bought more DVD's to watch and I purchased a gorgeous pair of pale blue drop earrings. While at the market a young American boy came up to me for a chat. Turns out that he was a missionary and there for a while. His friends congregated around us and we exchanged stories of where we were from and why we were in Cambodia.  Went to our favourite cafe there and had the best mango smoothie ever. We remet some of the young missionaries in the cafe who were also having a welcome respite from the heat.

Went for a walk around the outside of the market and found a local restaurant to have lunch. Finally managed to get across that we wanted vegetarian noodles ( our Khmer language skills were not that great).

After lunch and a rest, we walked to our new hotel the Queen Mansion. A relatively new hotel with sixteen floors. The swimming pool was on the top floor with a magnificent view out over the rooftops of Phnom Penh city. We paid the first months rent and got a Tuk-Tuk home.

Fell asleep for a while on the bed and then sat outside by the pool while Heidi skyped her boyfriend in Italy. This was a really nice relaxing day for us. For dinner, we walked around the corner to the dessert bar where we split a seafood pasta and a dessert of strawberries on the biggest, thickest piece of toast that I have ever seen in my life. We thought it was hilarious.

Full of food we walked home and went to bed to watch the movie Coco, a cartoon about the day of the dead. The end of another good day.
