A Bit about Me.

I thought that I would tell you a bit about myself. First of all I was born in Christchurch New Zealand in the fifties. I was the second and last child and I had a sister who was four years older than me. I was sent to a private girls school from five years to seventeen. We all wore a green uniform down to our knees, with a tie, gloves, straw hat, blazer, and knee length socks.9 Needless to say green is not my favourite colour. )  On the gate of the school prefects were posted and if we did not enter through the gates with any of these items on or if our socks had slid down our skinny legs we would get a detention and have to stay after school to pick up the rubbish left lying around. I became very adept at it. The school years flew by. I loved languages, chemistry and biology and hated maths. I loved to play hockey and was good at athletics. After I left school I worked for a dentist doing a dental certificate at night school while I waited to go nursing. I went into nursing school in the early seventies and lived in the nurses home as you had to in those days. Three and a half hard years pursued. I learnt a lot but nothing prepares you for the years ahead. In my early twenties I travelled to Europe and had the best time. I then moved to Australia and nursed for many years. (42) During this time my daughter was born. Watching her grow up was a privilege and a delight. The best years of my life. I am now in my sixties and enjoying life immensely. These are our golden years and a time to be enjoyed which is exactly what I am doing and having fun.

Enjoy the blog. Will post my nursing years in a later blog.
