Why We Should Be Kind To Ourselves.

Not only does this apply as we get older but it should apply at all times. Sometimes we are harder on ourselves than we are on on other people. We need to cut ourselves some slack. Life can be difficult and sometimes we put ourselves last, especially when we have a family.Time is precious and we just run out of it. Try these few ideas to make a start.

First of all we need to leave the past behind us. What we did then and what happened is over and needs to be left in the past. Don't dwell on these things. Look instead to the future and carve a new life for yourself. Make time to do the things that you like to do or try something new. It could be fun. This is also a great way to meet new people and make some new friends.

Money is sometimes an issue but there are great things you can do without requiring any, like take a walk in the park or on the beach or even around the streets and look at the gardens.Watch a great favourite movie on TV or DVD. Enjoy a special drink eg. wine, tea, coffee or chai. These will lift your spirits. Try yoga, Qi Gong, Tai Chi or indoor walking. They can be found on You Tube and are great fun to do.Try meditation as this is a good way to get in  touch with your inner self. Favourite music is a nice way to fill the house and lift your spirits. Read a book or visit the library for inspiration. Phone a friend or visit one instead. Don't forget that others are feeling the same as us.

Go for a massage , enjoy a beverage at your favourite coffee shop, or go see a movie. All these things are enjoyable and you can ask a friend to join you for company and a chat.

We should not let the manner of others upset us or get to us, which is easier said than done. We might just need some time out alone or distracted to get us back in the zone. Peace time is wonderful and rejuvenating.

I find time with my cat is a great stress reliever and even watching my goldfish and her antics soothing. Animals are a great source of stress relief.

Sitting in my garden is fabulous under the trees enjoying the bird life that goes on in the backyard.

Don't be hard on yourself. You are unique so make some time for yourself because you are special.
