Day Of The Boat.

Up early in our closet of a bedroom. Showered and out the door. It takes two buses to get to the tulip farm in the south of Amsterdam. First we get a bus to the airport where we buy yet another bagel for ten dollars. Enjoyed it all the same. Next bus takes us out to Keukenhof which is spread over  many acres. The multicoloured tulips hit the eyes as soon as you walk through the gates.

From there on in it was a an endless display of pure pleasur. Tulips have always been my favourite flower since I was a little girl so these sights were beyond imagination. We tiptoed through the tulips for the next three hours stopping for lunch at a kiosk filled with lovely hot food. We enjoyed a large spring roll with chips and a hot chocolate.

Continuing on we looked out over the tulip fields at the back and then onto the windmill and gift shop.

I purchased a pill container for my purse with tulips on it. I only had a cheap plastic container to carry my pills in  so a new upmarket one was a must. Got a lovely blue and white pen  with a small windmill and Dutch flag hanging off it.We then caught the bus back to the hotel and took a taxi to the boat. Our taxi driver pulled us up next to the boarding entrance of our vessel and you cannot imagine the excitement. Our most important part of the trip was about to commence. All aboard! It was so good to finally see the vessel. Our luggage was taken straight to our room. The room was spacious and by far the best room of the trip. For a start it would have wonderful scenery passing by it every day. The bathroom was also of a good size with a very spacious shower and plenty of storage space around the vanity. We were very happy and looking forward to spending two weeks on board. White dressing gowns were supplied, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shower gel. The boat was luxurious and the staff friendly. We instantly felt at home. Heidi was feeling unwell so lay down trying to rest till the Captains talk with dinner to follow. I felt more at ease as I felt that I had some back up if things deteriorated.
