What to do over the holiday break.

Christmas is nearly upon us and time to think about what to get up to over the holidays. We always give each other books and DVD's to use over this time. It is fun to sit and relax and read or watch a movie together or on your own. Don't forget the computer with catch up TV and You Tube. There are games to play to keep the brain active. If you want some more stimulation you can learn a language or like me do some genealogy. This will keep you amused for hours. Reading blogs is fun or try writing one or a story. If you are creative perhaps do some painting or colouring. Scrap booking is fun and a great way to sort through and use those old photos that we have. For people who like cooking try out some new recipes on the family for fun and get them to rate them. Don't forget with all the food intake to get some exercise and go for a walk. Try yoga or Qi Gong to loosen up and relax. Gardening is beneficial for both you and the garden. Being outside lifts the spirits. If the weather is too hot or raining perhaps clean out a drawer or wardrobe and visit the Op shop. It feels good to take in your unwanted items and also fun to look around for a bargain. You never know what you will find. Go out for lunch or invite some friends around for a High Tea and a chat. Bring out the good china. Open a bottle of bubbly. Enjoy yourselves.

If you feel house bound go for a drive, visit a market or small town or perhaps do some photography. Fish and chips on the beach is always special.

You might like to help a friend with something or perhaps a neighbour or even an elderly person who needs some help. Take someone to the movies and go for a coffee.

Have a well deserved nap. Play a board game.

I am sure you will find something to do. Enjoy your break and have a Happy Christmas.
