Nuremberg

On the bus again and off to Nurnberg. Firstly we visit the Zeppelin field where the Nazi rally's took place. What a huge space. Everything made of granite.

Drove past the buildings where the Nurnberg trials took place. They are now used for refugees to be interviewed and processed. See the moat and medieval part of town, then the Jewish cemetery. Have free time to shop so off for souvenirs in the town square with the golden fountain. Get lots of goodies especially associated with Albrecht Durer ie.Durer magnets, postcards [including 3d], and a print of  Nurnberg.  Went to McDonalds to use the toilet again but had to buy some chips and an apple pie to get the code to have a pee. All good. Visited the information center and bought calico bags with Durer's hare on them and more postcards. Now have plenty of Durer. Wandered around the red and white stalls of the markt platz. All of them had produce eg. vegetables, cheese, meats and biscuits.

Bought Heidi a key chain with German bits and pieces hanging off it eg a cow , an adelweiss, photo of beer and pretzels and Bavaria. Just had time to visit a book store and purchased a Durer book of his works. Everyone met back at the fountain and then back on the bus.

Back for lunch in the lounge of pasta with salad and cake to follow. Back in our room "Heidi" is on TV. [one version I have not seen before] There is a talk on later about the lochs this afternoon. May not go. Slept through the talk, did not even make it. According to Heidi some people slept through talk on lochs during talk on lochs ! Looked through some of my photos as slept through the end of the movie. Got up and went to lounge for a hot chocolate with cake and listened to Medothi play the keyboard. Very relaxing. I loved it. Nothing on till Gunther's port talk tonight. Off to Regensberg tomorrow. We have to stay all day in town till three thirty as the boat has to make a fast run to the Danube as the water level is rising due to excessive rain and there is a low bridge ahead. So we are being taken in to town while this happens. We are all given twenty five euros each [fifty dollars] for lunch. We will probably have a sausage and blow the rest on souvenirs. Tomorrow is Bavarian night with Omp pah pah music. For dinner tonight had mushroom risotto and a mudslide cocktail in the lounge instead of dessert.
