Schonbrunn Palace.

Forty minutes on the bus to Schonbrunn Palace.

Huge yellow palace set in beautiful gardens out the back. No photos are allowed to be taken inside but in the gardens is fine. Inside everything is Ricocco in style . All rooms gold and glitzy with fabulous wallpapers and furnishings.

Schonbrunn was Maria Teresa's  summer palace. Her daughter was Marie Antoinette.

We walked around the gardens after the tour inside. They were beautiful with the wisteria hanging archway which smelled magnificent. We sat in a lovely manicured section and saw brightly coloured flower beds and trees springing into bloom. Tourists from Hong Kong and India asked us to take their family photos which was nice and we chatted with them for a while. We had a lovely relaxing morning but all to soon it was back on the bus. Lunch time again when we got back. Nasi goreng  with a red wine and carrot cake to follow. More ice cream and a green tea to follow. We spent the afternoon on board reading and writing, using I pad ,  and doing word search.  We move out for Budapest tonight, our final destination.

Left dock before dinner and had a farewell for the staff at six thirty. We clapped for them all to say thank you and goodbye.

The Captain's dinner is tonight. We were not asked to be on his table!!! We ate chicken and vegetables followed by a real treat of baked alaska. They dimmed the lights and the dessert came out in a waiter train alight with large sparklers. Everyone clapped and the atmosphere was electric. Great fun and dessert was delicious. Took a cup of tea back to the room to read.We all had to fill out a performance survey of our trip. We rated highly. What a wonderful experience it was. We dock in Budapest in the morning.  Last port of call.
