Off to a High Tea.

Expectations

For the first time in my life I am actually going to my first high tea. By this I mean that I have been invited to attend and will not actually hosting one. I am very excited and trying to decide what to wear and what accessories to go with my outfit. I am interested to see how it is done and what is on offer to eat. The tea itself is not in a home environment but at a business that caters for high teas. A friend's sister has arranged it as a surprise, as none of us have ever been to one before. We are high tea virgins! It is going to be a lovely warm day and this should be loads of fun. I am going to compare my high teas with the professionals! Will fill you in when I get back and tell you all the ins and outs.

Post High Tea

Well, we have participated in our first High Tea and it was fabulous. The room was decorated in black, white and pink. It looked amazing. There was a large black fancy framed mirror on the wall. The tables were surrounded by ghost chairs and some with black and white rims.

The tables had pretty floral plates with white linen napkins and flowers. It all looked very pretty and glamorous.

When we sat down there was a drinks menu with a list of mocktails to choose from. This was a good idea as we were driving home. I chose a green tea and lemon combination, which was light and refreshing. It was called an 'Alice in Wonderland' and it was yellow. There were blue ones and pink ones. All looked delicious. The spider was hot pink with cream on top.

Next came the food served on a triple cake stand, loaded with goodies. The large plate on the bottom held a variety of sandwiches that were light and delicious. There were also some tiny quiches.  The middle layer held scones and croissants with strawberry jam and cream. On the top were small cakes which looked very appetising indeed.

We enjoyed the lot and as we ate we were served hot tea in individual black teapots with pink floral cups.

High Tea was a lovely relaxing special thing to do and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a treat. Great to take a friend or your mum. As we left there was a bridal shower party arriving. We all thought that it was a great idea for this event.

Treat yourselves and have fun.
